*Into Okudzeto-Ablakwa supporting NPP saga!
Members and Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region have called on the National Executives Committee (NEC) and National Council of Elders (NCE) of the NDC to set up an independent committee of inquiry to probe into the recent expose’ that the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa was supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the December 7, 2016 polls.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr.Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman “Wontumi” a couple of weeks ago caused stir when he confessed that the Deputy Miniter of Education, Okudzeto Ablakwa and the Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah are moles in the NDC working for the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to amass votes in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking on ‘Abusua Nkomo’ with Kwame Adinkra on Abusua FM, Chairman Wontumi mentioned that “Omane Boamah and Okudzeto Ablakwa are all card bearing members of the NPP. I am telling you on authority, and you can go and find out.
“You know Wontumi doesn’t lie. Their education was sponsored by the NPP and they owe allegiance to us.They have been helping us and will continue to do so,” the vociferious Wontumi disclosed.
But, in a quick rebuttal, many aggrieved supporters and members of the NDC in the six recognised traditional areas within the North Tongu who spoke to Today during a recent visit expressed worry about the expose’ and believed that the two consitutional bodies of the NDC would do their good job to unravel the true of the matter.
Fuming with anger, they stressed that the thorough investigation into the matter by the NEC and National Council Elders would save the NDC and President John Dramani Mahama from defeat in North Tongu constituency in the December 7, 2016 polls.
According to supporters of the NDC, the current action and inaction exhibiting by Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa with tacit support by some torch officials and executive members of the North Tongu Constituency were clear manifestation that Mr. Okdzeto-Ablakwa is truely working against the NDC and President Dramani Mahama.
“Our MP together with the former North Tongu Constituency Chairman, Mr. Francis Doe, Director of Elections and one Abotsi on July 18, 2016 toured some traditional areas which are Podoe, Volo, Mepe, Torgome, Fordzoku, Battor-Aveyime and Juapong.
And during the visity the afformentioned personalities issued a strong worded warning to the party’s branch executives who are making their intentions to follow the independent candidate whose name they have failed to mention to change their minds if not so then they shall be expelled from the NDC.
“…some of us find this threat to be selfishness on the part of the MP since our President John Dramani Mahama needs those votes to win,” these NDC supporters disclosed.
According to them, their MP again said that the candidate has allied with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which “we found to be a great falacy.
“Even if this is true and he, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa was driving out the people because they would vote against him, then what happend to President Dramani Mahama,” the supporters angrily asked.
According to the supporters of the NDC, action of their MP showed indirectly Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa is working for the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as chairman Wuntumi has confessed.
They stressed that it would do their MP a lot of good he comes out to defend himself after the axpose’ of Chairman Wontumi.
“Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa it would be better for you to come and defend yourself because Chairman Wontumi has confessed that he was privy to information that you currently aiding Nana Akufo-Addo and NPP to win the December 2016 showdown,” they stressed.
If their request does not yilded any possitive results, the livid supporters in the area said they would be left no other choice than to boycott all political activities in the area.
